Victoria Gardens Crossroads is a new retail building at Victoria Gardens, Forest City's award winning retail project in Rancho Cucamonga, California. To rationalize the project's orientation facing parking lot, JRDV designed the project as a conversion of a building "discovered" along U.S. Route 66. Stylistically, the building's design romanticizes the southern California dream, automobile travel, and exotic places found all along this famed route. Elaborate decorative tile patterning mitigates the scale of the highway, adding intimacy and allure.
