| Eastmont Community Campus is located in East Oakland and comprises two development alternatives. The first scheme focuses all development on one site, adjacent to Eastmont Town Center, and includes Peralta Community College, Oakland Public Library, Spoken Word Coffee House and a senior's center with three levels of senior housing above. Each use is given its own entrance and identity on the street edge, with Peralta College fronting the busier street of 73rd Avenue, Spoken Word Coffee House on the corner, and Oakland Public Library and the senior's housing lobby fronting the quieter Foothill Boulevard. The second scheme proposes the educational and community uses on this same site, with an interior courtyard with an entrance connecting to Eastmont Town Center. For this scheme, the senior's housing is located diagonally across the intersection with neighbourhood serving retail at street level. |
