Oak Grove Village is an extraordinary opportunity that aims to create a vibrant and exciting center for the city of Oak Grove as well as the greater Fort Campbell / Nashville Region. The project will be Oak Grove’s new retail downtown, a true heart of the community as well as regional destination point. The project includes a pedestrian-friendly, open-air mixed-use design that will be the first of its kind in the region. Located on a 110-acre parcel of land along Highway 41A, Oak Grove, Kentucky across from Fort Campbell, Oak Grove Village includes a pedestrian-oriented town center that integrates shops, restaurants, a movie theater, performance center, and housing. This town center is surrounded by large landscaped parking fields that also link larger anchor stores that benefit from excellent visibility to Highway 41A. The town center concept is based on creating public spaces which are designed to a pedestrian scale and have a unique feel. Included are fountains, paseos, and courtyards. These public spaces create an exciting, unfolding pedestrian experience and allow for a variety of activities such as outdoor dining, concerts, informal performances, and parades. To generate the sense of a town center, the overall building massing is broken down stylistically and rendered as many separate buildings in order to break down the overall scale and convey a village-like feel. Oak Grove Village will be a comfortable patchwork of contrasting styles that balances great variety with smooth transitions to create a surprising and joyful center for Oak Grove. Signature elements such as towers and arcades become icons for the branding of a store, community resource, or town square. Overall, the creative open-air European street design and architectural variety will place the project singularly above other projects anywhere in the region.
