Las Rozas is conceived of as a microcosm of Madrid, recalling the flamboyance the Grand Via and Puerta Del Sol but without the distractions of traffic and nonfashion uses. Plazas recall the scale and sense of enclosure of Madrid's Plaza Santa Ana. Individual buildings also express the exuberance of landscape follies that are based on the pagoda for the Duke of Choiseul and an onion dome from the Royal Pavilion at Brighton. Later interventions are specifically inspired by the Via Condotti in Rome and Bond Street in London.
