FEATURE PROJECT

JRDV recently completed the Town Center Master Plan for the new community of Lomas de Angelopolis in Puebla, Mexico. The design addresses the stress of increasing urbanization and rapid economic development in Puebla, which has left its new growth corridors without character or a sustainable economic framework. JRDV's plan focuses the mixed-use development around a powerful urban boulevard form to give Town Center a clear pedestrian and urban identity. An integrated retail arcade is designed into each parcel to ensure that this becomes a lively and sustainable urban place. A central park is ringed with restaurants and fashion retail which will give the Town Center a 7x24 presence. The Town Center proposes a new paradigm in urban planning, allowing flexible parcelization and form-based rules which ensure that a strong urban identity is maintained with different individual ownerships.
